Merry Christmas!

Hi Friends,

I hope your Christmas is extra merry this year. I'm getting everything I could want this year: time with my loved ones. I'm spending tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday in FW with extended family, then my family is heading back to Big Spring for the real thing. After a few days of work next week, the extended family is reconvening at the ranch for New Year's. Perfect!

So stay warm, drink lots of hot chocolate, listen closely sleigh bells and reindeer hooves, and enjoy the season.

I just don't go away

Hi Friends,
Work life has calmed down enough I can continue to blog. Yay!
So, let's catch up from the last time I blogged:
1) Moved to my little apartment; I love it.
2) Have a nice big desk and a nice big window; I love it.
3) Workin' my bottom off, but the clients are (generally) fun.
4) Get to see my Bud nearly every weekend, but that's really not enough, so...
5) He's moving up here!!! Yay!
6)But, he doesn't have a job yet, so, if you have any contacts in FW, let me know!

I hope everybody has a great Christmas, fabulous New Year, and I'll see y'all at the best party of 2007: Crystal's wedding.

Love ya.

Last blog for a while

Hey guys,
I move tomorrow. EEK! (I'm scared.) This is a very big move for a very uncomfortable-with-change girl. But, I'm a big girl, and it's time to do this thing. So, pray for me, and I'll get in contact as soon as I can.

Plea to Steph-a-ronie

Dear Sweet Friend,

I miss your insights. I miss details of your everyday life. I miss hearing about your love of words, (actually, I'm beginning to wonder if your love has turned to hate.) I miss your witty little comments. Please start blogging again. :(

Your biggest fan,

New Job

Skip the roommate-looking in College Station, I've got a new job in Fort Worth. Too early to really post details on this, but give me a call if you want to hear all about it.

Silly pictures

I'm going to be gone for the rest of the week, so I thought I better blog now so as to not leave all my faithful readers, (all two of you,) without your usualy meg-a-moo fix.

So, for your entertainment, here are a few goofy pictures.

Games, games, games

Ahhh... what a good weekend. Bud came up, and we watched Ali play a volleyball and softball game. We went to the park, saw the Spring, (as in the Big Spring,) ate Mom's homecooked ribs, watched the scary Aggie game at On the Border, and went to church on Sunday. It's really not that much, in the grand scheme of things, but I had a great time.

College Station

It seems I may be returning to College Station. Plans aren't complete, but I may be looking for a roommate for a few months. Keep your eyes and ears open.

I'm having a bit of a career dilemma today. If any of you get a chance, please give me a call. I could use some advice.

Fishing and Football (You'd think I was a boy)

I hope everyone had a good Labor Day weekend. Mine was pretty great; I spent it hanging out with Bud and Steph, 2 of my favorite people. One of the coolest things was fishing at George Bush Library and listening to the game. The pond by the library is close enough to the stadium that we could hear the announcer call the game. Sitting in the cool grass and fishing with my friends is a much better way to watch the game than standing on swaying bleachers and screaming my head off.

Bahn N Bubbles

Sadly, the most exciting things going on in my life right now don't involve me. Two cool things happened or will happen today: 1) Bethany sent her 1st e-mail from Germany today. For those of you who don't know, she's spending the semester in Bahn. She's happily settled in with her vegetarian family and their only-German speaking 2 year old. Should be interesting. 2) Dad returns home from Africa today. I'm REALLY excited about hearing the stories and such, but there's a teeny-tiny part of me that wants him to spend some quarantine time in a plastic bubble with a hot shower. Too many creepy diseases over there.

I don't really have anything to say today. It seems I've caught Steph-a-ronie's disease. But, here's my new phone. Fancy.

Wedding in New Mexico

This was the wedding of a good friend of mine this summer. Look how beautiful she was! You know, I've never seen an ugly bride. They all glow.

Plano?

I'm back, again. I left for a bit to go interview for a PR position in Plano with a community college, CCCC. While I like the idea of working with the community, (alot,) I really DON'T like the idea of living in Plano. Guess we'll see, and if I end up there, I'll just commute. :)

Since I was already conveniently located in the Fort Worth area and staying with my grandma, I stayed for the weekend. Bud was also in town for some work thing-a-ma-bob in Mesquite, so he stayed with Grandma too, after he was done with work. We visited some friends, hung out with my family, and almost got sprayed by a skunk.

We were walking back to my grandma's apartment, and I thought I saw a skunk run from the porch into some bushes. Bud thought I was crazy, of course, and tried to keep walking towards the "cat." Fortunately, I convinced him that was a bad idea, and we waited 'til our friend, Flower, decided to mosey on down the street. Weird.

Isn't this the funniest picture of Bud ever? This is an old picture, and he evidently had this uber-mustache for quite a while. Silly boy.

Trip summary

Day One: Got on a plane with "Bubba," my oh-so-large seat buddy, who insisted upon hitting on me the entire way in a gross, perverted way. I'm talking the full court press. All the usual deflectors had no effect on this guy. Almost asked the flight attendant to move me, but didn't think it was worth it, since the flight was nearly over.

Day Two: Weather looked nice in Houston, so we flew in a Cessna to Nacogdoches. After wallowing in salebarn dirt and other things while wearing a white shirt, we wanded 90 steers into the RanchHand system. The rain poured for about 4 hours, then, after I was sweaty, sticky and dirty, they asked me to step in front of the videocam and interview the show superintendent. Nice. I'm sure I was beautiful and "glowing." Then, we packed our manure encrusted equipment up and got back in the plane. Big storms came through College Station and the general area, and we were forced to land in Conroe. The storms wouldn't leave, so we hitched a ground ride and left the plane in Conroe. Got back to Houston and into bed around 1 a.m.

Day Three: Got up at 6 a.m. to get to the airport around 8:15. The security line was long, and I had to run to catch my flight. Now I'm HOME. Woohoo!

P.S. This is a picture of the bats in Austin from a few weeks back.

Leavin' on a jet plane

Ok, so my fears were diminished. We're not going on the private plane tomorrow due to bad weather. Takin' a good old fashioned automobile instead. But, since it's gonna take longer, I'm flying commercial today to Houston, and we'll drive up together tomorrow. So, this will probably be my last post for a few days. Be good.

P.S.

If anyone knows how to use this stinkin' photo publisher, I'd appreciate a tutorial. Everytime I think I've done it, the pix don't show up in the blog. I don't get it.

Up, up and away!

The company I'm doing freelance for is holding a field day next Tuesday, and guess who's going? Me. That means I'm going to have to face a fear, and it's a big one. I'll be flying in a teensy-tiny private plane from Houston to the ranch and back. Eeek. I don't really know if I like that or not.

Another fun blog

I love this blog: http://www.lasfashionistas.blogspot.com/.
Not because their advice is so wonderful and I listen and follow it all, (obviously I don't dress like fashionista,) but because it's honest advice about real world living. They like fashion, but they don't pretend it's fun to wear 6 inch Jimmy Choos everyday or that people can afford to do so. Anyway, all my girlfriends, check it out.

Rain dancing is wearing me out

Hi friends,
Did you know Big Spring has been receiving torrential downpours of rain? Yep, while the rest of the country turned to a sweatbox, BS was like Seattle. Crazy stuff, eh? Don't think I'm complaining, we desperately needed this relief, but it's just a bit odd to be getting so much rain in August.

A New Day, A New Blog

Hi there, all you in blogland,
I've had a couple of requests to start blogging again, so here I go. As you probably know, I have an old blog, but to be honest, I can't remember the password to log back in! So, from now on, this is your site for all the latest Megamoo news.

Megamoo, out!
