Trip summary

Day One: Got on a plane with "Bubba," my oh-so-large seat buddy, who insisted upon hitting on me the entire way in a gross, perverted way. I'm talking the full court press. All the usual deflectors had no effect on this guy. Almost asked the flight attendant to move me, but didn't think it was worth it, since the flight was nearly over.

Day Two: Weather looked nice in Houston, so we flew in a Cessna to Nacogdoches. After wallowing in salebarn dirt and other things while wearing a white shirt, we wanded 90 steers into the RanchHand system. The rain poured for about 4 hours, then, after I was sweaty, sticky and dirty, they asked me to step in front of the videocam and interview the show superintendent. Nice. I'm sure I was beautiful and "glowing." Then, we packed our manure encrusted equipment up and got back in the plane. Big storms came through College Station and the general area, and we were forced to land in Conroe. The storms wouldn't leave, so we hitched a ground ride and left the plane in Conroe. Got back to Houston and into bed around 1 a.m.

Day Three: Got up at 6 a.m. to get to the airport around 8:15. The security line was long, and I had to run to catch my flight. Now I'm HOME. Woohoo!

P.S. This is a picture of the bats in Austin from a few weeks back.

WOW. Helluva trip. And while uncomfortable in places, I'm quite certain you'll be able to make this into one helluva story in no time at all. Just need a little distance.

Glad to hear you made is safe around both ways.
